New South Glasgow University Hospital & Royal Hospital For Sick Children

It is being labelled as the new ‘Super Hospital’ – The New South Glasgow University Hospital and Royal Hospital For Sick Children is set to deliver a truly ‘gold standard of healthcare’ on the Govan site, in Glasgow. With maternity, children’s and adult acute hospitals, and state of the art laboratory services all together on the one campus. When this new hospital facility opens in early 2015, it will have the biggest Critical Care complex and one of the biggest Emergency Departments in Scotland.

A project of this size was always going to need an advanced PDMS system and that is where Brookfield Multiplex believed that Zutec had the solution. This would be attributed mainly due to the scale of the project, but also, the types of Fabric & Services installed on this project are very advanced/modern.

From the ETFE roofing to the Helipad, and the AGV underground system to the Building Maintenance Unit, this is a very modern project and the client needed an advanced handover facility like the Zutec system, to match.

The Zutec System on the New South Glasgow Hospital is mainly used as a Project Database Management System & Online Collaborative tool for completing and sharing Operation & Maintenance Manuals.

The setup here also assists with Project Handover by eliminating hard copy delivery.
Zutec on the Glasgow Project is ensuring timely completion O&M Manuals, As Built Drawings, Health & Safety files, Building Log Books, Asset & Equipment Schedules and Compliance Documentation.

All the Asset & Equipment schedules when finished will be migrated to the NHS FM Management team to suit their format, so there is great flexibility with what the client can do with all the information gathered throughout the project.

The key aspect in relation to this project is a good customer relationship and the service delivery offered.  In theory, companies can have an inadequate system and still have a good relationship which would enable them to progress. But Zutec can not only offer a good system but they offer a great support service and this project has got it all – which is a ‘win win’ situation for all parties involved.
